New recovery instance for failed UNSa Medicine – It may interest you

The director of the Medicine School, Enrique Herediain relation to the failed partial exams of the first subject of the study plan, informed New dairy that all students who have appeared to recover the first part and did not pass will not be free; They will have the opportunity to take a new recovery at the end of the course.

This output was adopted after a meeting of the rector Victor Claros with the management team of the chair, from where the proposal of the comprehensive final recovery prevailed as a solution to the student claims due to the negative result that none of the students of the first Medicine cohort could pass the exam in its entirety.

With this alternative, it would be sought to give students the opportunity to continue in the course but, from the UNSa, they made it known that “the levels of demand will not drop.”

How will it be implemented?

Heredia explained that the exams for students are divided into 4 axes (Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Literacy), and that to pass the questionnaire, students must pass each axis with 80% success.

In the first partial, no student managed to complete 80% in the 4 axes, “there were some who managed to do 3 and only did poorly in one”, specified the director.

Last week, the students took the recovery test, where they only had to recover those axes where they had not reached the necessary 80%.

a new instance

Heredia confirmed to New dairy that established this a new instance of recovery for students that will take place at the end of the course in May, and where students who still fail to reach 80% in the 4 axes, may have the opportunity to pass the axes in those who remain flawed.

The novelty of this measure lies in the fact that normally if a student fails to meet the objectives in the first instance of recovery, he or she is released and therefore cannot continue studying, which in the case of medicine, implies that he or she has to repeat the attempt in 2023, due to the correlativity that matter has.

With this decision to establish a comprehensive make-up at the end of the course, students who have not passed neither the partial nor their recovery instance, will be able to continue studying and even take the second partial, which in the case of failing, will also be will recover in the integral instance of May.

As for the students who have already passed the 4 axes with 80% established by the study plan approved by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU), Heredia stressed that “there are very few”, but highlighted that with the measure of the final recuperation they give the students the possibility of continuing in their studies.

On the other hand, he stressed that the measure only covers students who presented the recovery instance of the first partial, so those who did not present themselves will not be able to take the final comprehensive recovery and were free in the course.

“There was an absenteeism of 22% among those who showed up for the first partial and those who showed up for recovery… They threw in the towel before time,” he said.

The first part was attended by more than 701 students, while only around 580 showed up for his recuperation, according to career sources.
