New regulations introduced for employees in UAE

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has allowed a three-day weekend for workers. According to a global journal, the UAE government has introduced new regulations for employees working in the federal sector. These new rules will come into effect from July 1, 2023.

These regulations allow a three-day weekend for employees who work a maximum of ten hours per day four days a week, known as a compressed working week.

It is known that the compressed working week is one of the five working models announced by the Human Resources Law outlining the five working models of government employees in the UAE. Employees who perform duties in the employer’s head office or designated branches and locations.

By following the regulations outlined in the Remote Work Law approved by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and the Yea Ae Cabinet, employees perform their work from a location within the country that is outside the employer’s office.

Similarly, if the employees have to perform their duties from outside the country, then they have this facility.

This facility will also be available for remote employees. may increase their working hours under certain circumstances, thus the duration of duty thus rendered in the UAE may be a maximum of ten hours.
