The recent triumph of Alfredo Cornejo in Mendoza ends up shaping a new scenario for the Radical Civic Union (UCR) facing his future and his vocation for presidential power. He centenary party will govern from December 10 in five provincesa number that leaves it well positioned on the national electoral map.

The first to retain a provincial territory in this super electoral year was Carlos Sadir, in Jujuy. This is the dolphin of Gerardo Morales, outgoing president. The second was the Corrientes Gustavo Valdeswho was re-elected almost a month ago and stands as one of the possible new leaders of the UCR at the national level.

The third victory came from the hand of Maximiliano Pullaro, in Santa Fe. It was more than a surprise, as it was a territory dominated by Peronism. The fourth victory was achieved Leandro Zderoin Chaco, which displaced the Peronist and former national official, Jorge Capitanich, from office.

Cornejo put the finishing touch to the string of victories of radicalism in the interior, which was also just over 20,000 votes away from winning the JxC internal race in the city of Buenos Aires with Martín Lousteau. It remains to be seen what will happen in the province of Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos and Catamarca, and the final result in the City of Buenos Aires.
