New shop opens in the former “Stadion-Center” in Ried

For weeks, drilling, screwing and hammering have been going on in the former “Stadion Center” at Riedauer Straße 37 in Ried. Reason: on Saturday, November 25th, at 9 a.m., the “non-food discounter” Action is opening a branch there. The company has been on the Austrian market since 2015 and opened its 100th branch at the end of May this year. The former retail park has been empty for the past few years.

“The branch in Ried will be the 107th in Austria,” says Boyko Tchakarov, Managing Director of Action Austria, in an OÖN interview. There was a good opportunity for another opening in Ried. The sales area is around 900 square meters. “We are creating 20 new jobs, the team is already complete,” says Tchakarov.

Customers would particularly appreciate the mix of a varied and frequently changing product range as well as an “incredible price”. We offer a shopping experience, many customers visit us very regularly, says Tchakarov.

The action shop opening is unlikely to be the only one in the former stadium center. As reported, a Billa-Plus is also expected to open in the spring of 2024. On March 21, 2023, a Billa branch on Goethestrasse was closed. The REWE Group confirmed to OÖN at the time that a second Billa Plus store was to be opened.
