Ashanty released her new single entitled Bye Former. In the video clip, Ashanty entrusts Fuji An and Tariq Halilintar to be the stars.
Previously, Fuji and Tariq had indeed been dating but now they have broken up. Ashanty admitted that there was no special reason to unite the former lovers in the video clip for the song.
“I (at first) didn’t think about their model (of) at all, I can ask Mas Upi (production partner),” Ashanty said when met during the release of the single Bye Prestasi in the Mega Kuningan area, South Jakarta on Wednesday (5/7/2023) .
“But I (think) ‘do they want it or not?’ then I proposed to them and there was no harm in trying. They accepted. Just happy, just God’s way. I didn’t take advantage of the moment, only when the team asked them to just look funny. They also said the song was funny, “continued Ashanty.
Had doubts that Fuji and Tariq would want to be reunited in this video clip, Ashanty already had plans to use another model. But luckily they didn’t refuse.
Before agreeing to Ashanty’s offer, Tariq had asked to hear the song first. From there then the approval of Tariq came.
“It didn’t take a few minutes (after hearing the song) he immediately agreed. He asked who the girl was? I said the team asked Fuji,” said Ashanty.
This Bye Ex song is not about Fuji and Tariq. But this song was actually inspired by Ashanty’s personal experience. He created the song with a colleague named Merry.
“At first I wanted to make a title that was careful. It just seemed to be careful or something like that. I think it’s more fun to be eccentric. Finally, Bye ex, I’ve used that. This is a friend’s experience, someone else’s experience. I’m quiet like this, I’m good at creating songs, lol!” said Ashanti.
“Ms. Merry made the lyrics. We chatted and I changed some of the lyrics, I didn’t get too involved. Until I changed the title and 80% of Ms. Merry made it,” he added.
Ashanty also hopes that her newest song will be accepted by the public. Moreover, the music and lyrics are light and easy to sing together.
“The song is simple, I hope people can accept it. I want this song to be light, do you want to make it sad or what? I want it to be light, then people can sing along, can do karaoke,” he concluded.
