New species of dinosaur turtle discovered

Spanish archaeologists have just discovered a fossil of a marine dinosaur turtle that lived around 80 million years ago.

This animal measured almost 4 meters and weighed just under 200 kilos. It is one of the largest specimens ever discovered in Europe.

This discovery was made by a hiker attracted by large shapes protruding from the earth.

With the shoulder and hip pieces found, the researchers were able to determine the size of the turtle and notably reconstruct its skull.
