Dublin – Toll collection rates on Ireland’s roads have been increased. The toll rate has been increased from July 1. The pre-announced increase came into force at midnight last night. The rate hike will affect nine toll roads in the country. Eight of these are public-private partnerships and the other is the M50 road. The fare increase was announced by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). The government had frozen the increase in toll rates for the last six months amid rising cost of living.

There will be no increase in the toll rate in the Dublin Port Tunnel. The new toll rate in the M1, M7, M8, N6 and Limerick Tunnel will increase by 10 cents to €2.10. The toll rate on M3 also increased by 10 cents to 1.60 euros. The increase in M4 is 20 cents. The new fare on the M4 is €3.20. Cars traveling on the M50 without tags will now have to pay an extra 30 cents. That is 3.50 euros. For cars with video accounts, the toll rate has increased by 20 cents to €2.90. The new fare for cars with tags on the M50 will rise by 20 cents to €2.30.
