The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s most powerful chip currently, but the company may already be working on another newer platform and we’re not talking regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the new chipset belongs to the 8 series , but it might be a more affordable version of the Gen 3.
The chip is currently codenamed SM8625 and Digital Chat Station says it has a 2.9 GHz ARM Cortex-X4 core and an Adreno 735 GPU, which allowed it to score 1.7 million points in the AnTuTu Benchmark.
If the information is real, this means that the SM8625 might be a chip with higher performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as a kind of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite.
Really wonder what the difference between SM8635 and SM7675 will be. They both show up looking basically identical, but…. I’ve never seen this happen with anything Qualcomm. Two model numbers for the same chip…
