Paris – New strikes and protests are imminent in France after the passage of the controversial pension reform. According to media reports, the authorities are expecting up to 800,000 demonstrators across the country on Thursday. Around 12,000 police officers are said to be on duty. The reform to gradually raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 years was passed on Monday evening.
