New Years swim in Boston | Euronews

The traditional New Year’s swim in Boston ushers in the new year. The ice-cold water is a problem for some participants, but the members of America’s oldest cold-water swimming group, the L Street Brownies, are of course unimpressed.

Boston is the largest city in New England and the capital of the state of Massachusetts on the east coast of the United States.

The metropolis is one of the oldest, wealthiest, and culturally richest cities in the United States. Its greater area is home to both the world-famous Harvard University and the equally important MIT, both located in Cambridge.

The water temperature in Boston is currently 8 degrees. Normally this water temperature is not suitable for swimming and only the toughest can manage.
