A New York woman named Genine Plummer got an incredible surprise when discovered, almost a year after the drawing, that he had won a lottery jackpot that will give him $1,000 a week for life.
Plummer, who lives in Islip, told New York Lottery officials that he purchased a ticket for the May 26, 2022 Cash4Life game drawing at a ShopRite store. However, for some reason, he forgot to check if his ticket was a winner.
After seeing a lottery press release on May 11 of this year mentioning that the winning ticket was about to expire, Plummer decided to check all of her tickets.
Plummer was shocked to discover she had won a prize of $1,000 a week for life..
“I am in shock with everything and in awe. I’m overwhelmed,” said the lucky winner, according to the UPI news portal.
As advice to other lottery players, Plummer said: “Keep playing like I did and check your tickets like I did, especially if you have a lot of tickets on hand“.
