The former coach of Al-Ittihad club, Romanian coach Cosmin Contra, revealed the details of his departure from the team, despite his agreement to stay earlier.
Cosmin said, according to Al-Riyadia: “I met the club’s president, Anmar Al-Haili, and his deputy, Ahmed Kaaki, and they assured me of my continuity with Al-Ittihad, but unfortunately, after the last match, they decided the opposite.”
He added, “The handling of me was not good and I will learn from this experience. They called my translator and asked him to tell me their thanks for my work and that they decided to choose another coach. The president speaks English and so does my cake and I waited for a call from them at least to inform me of the decision, not through my translator.”
The Romanian coach concluded: “I was disappointed after appointing another coach, as we had an agreement, but in the end I thank the club for giving me the opportunity, and I wish Santo success in his next mission.”
Al-Ittihad signed the Portuguese Nono Santo and thanked Cosmin Contra after the league lost to Al-Hilal in the last rounds.
