The Ministry of Health has activated two appointment and referral systems in all home health care departments in hospitals and referral areas.
The Health explained that this is due to the ease of access for home health care beneficiaries through these two systems, to accept patients in this service according to the conditions set by the Ministry, which are in-patients in the hospital and non-patients, in addition to the presence of a person capable of caring for the patient, and the distance between the health care department does not exceed The patient’s home is about 70 km, as well as the signature of the patient or his family member agreeing to the home health care service.
And she indicated that the total number of visits she made to the homes amounted to 72,000, and the number of field visits reached more than 62,000 until the middle of 2022 AD, while the number of patients under service reached 44,000 patients in 22 regions and governorates in the Kingdom, and an increase in the number of patients registered with the service amounted to 4351 patients, and the number of hospitals and centers that provide services to home care patients reached 242 hospitals and centers, and the number of medical teams reached 500.
She pointed out that the groups benefiting from home health care services are hospitalized patients if their condition is stable or need health services at home, and non-patients who need health follow-up, and they include Alzheimer’s patients, comprehensive rehabilitation patients, outpatient and emergency patients, disabled students and health centers.
She added that the services provided to home health care patients include rehabilitation, home physiotherapy, home respiratory care, home nursing care, home social services, medical care, home nutrition services, virtual home health services, home mental health, as well as other support services, and medication management.
