Al-Janabi added that they do not know the unknown citizen who donated his heart to his brother Aqeel, and it is not possible to know him, according to the regulations followed in organ donation in the Kingdom; But they pray for mercy and forgiveness for him, for he has donated his organs; For a person who does not know him either, and who is serious about himself after his death, and being generous with oneself is the ultimate end of generosity.
The brother explained that for 7 years, Aqeel carried a tired heart in his chest, and frequently visited hospitals; He was diagnosed with heart muscle weakness, after his condition was first detected at Qatif Central Hospital, which referred him to the Medical Tower in Dammam, which in turn referred him to Al Babtain Hospital specialized in heart diseases.
Al-Janabi indicated that his 30-year-old brother was tired of the disease to the extent that it prevented him from working, and the doctors did not find a solution except to transplant a heart taken from the body of a person registered in the list of organ donation after death.
He pointed out that this was not possible, so the doctors resorted to placing a stent for the tired heart, and the stent was planned to remain for 6 months, but it inhabited his chest for 6 years, accompanied by a device that helps him regulate his weak heartbeat.
He said that last July, his brother underwent a heart transplant, after finding a matching heart, and received tickets to the capital, Riyadh, and underwent tests, and the operation was successful.
He added that his brother Aqil’s health condition had begun to stabilize; He is still lying on the white bed and is expected to leave hospital soon.
