The Ministry of Health has warned against taking caffeine doses higher than the appropriate amount per day, which is a maximum of 400 mg or 4 cups of black coffee.
The Ministry indicated that the symptoms of an overdose of caffeine include insomnia, nausea, rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing, headache and chest pain, as well as hallucinations and loss of muscle control.
She noted that a small increase in the dose of caffeine can be dealt with by drinking water, exercising lightly, and eating food rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals.
In early October, coffee lovers around the world celebrated the International Coffee Day, which was launched by the International Coffee Organization (ICO) during the Expo 2015 in Milan.
