News 24 | Health clarifies the factors of venous thrombosis in travel and ways to protect them

Today (Sunday), the Ministry of Health indicated that sitting for a long time during travel is harmful to the legs, in order to increase the hours of sitting in transportation, which leads to the occurrence of what is called “venous thrombosis”.

She explained that venous thrombosis in travel is the formation of a blood clot in the leg veins, which is more likely to occur on long trips that take 4 hours or more, and it can be protected by constantly moving every hour, drinking a lot of water and fluids, and wearing comfortable clothes.

With regard to the factors of venous thrombosis in the leg during travel, they include: “previous infection, pregnancy and childbirth, genetic tendency to clot, aging, and obesity,” where the Ministry stressed the need to consult a doctor before traveling in the event of any of these factors.
