Today (Wednesday), the Directorate General of Health Affairs in Riyadh announced that it had, in cooperation with the security authorities, arrested two illegal immigrants who performed abortions.
The Directorate said: The two expatriates were carrying out abortions through a residential apartment that was taken in the south of Riyadh for this purpose, in an environment that did not provide the minimum medical and health requirements.
She explained that the two seized persons were referred to the Public Prosecution, for violating Article 28 of the Health Professions Practice Law, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months and a fine not exceeding 100,000 riyals, or either of them.
The directorate indicated that expired medical materials, medical materials to assist in abortion, and materials of unknown origin were seized.
