Saudi Arabia, Razan Al-Aqeel, participated in one of the high-level sessions of the UN Security Council, representing the youth of civil society.
During her speech, Al-Aqeel called for the necessity of giving young people the opportunity to participate in decision-making, adding to the officials: “We are your children … decisions that we have included confirm your belief in our capabilities, and their implementation is in opportunities for effective participation in decision-making in our societies towards development and preparing us to lead the future.”
She indicated that she is one of more than 100 million Arab young women and men, who carried their voice faithfully on her chest and conveyed their message to the Security Council.
Al-Aqeel thanked the Security Council for giving her this opportunity, stressing the aspiration of young people to be given more opportunities in the future.
“I am one of more than 100 million young Arab women and men… We are your children and our decisions confirm your belief in our abilities.”
