For several months, Dolipranes 1000 mg capsules have become scarce in pharmacies. This is also the case of Liquiz children’s syrup.
Sanofi, manufacturer of Doliprane, confirmed to the newspaper The Dispatch that these ruptures have existed for several months. This phenomenon is caused by an unusual increase in demand due to the Covid-19 pandemic and winter epidemics such as influenza.
Paracetamol powder, imported from China and India, is not out of stock but the Sanofi factory, which transforms it into capsules or syrup, is struggling to increase its production as demand is unprecedented. However, the manufacturer expects a return to normal in June 2022.
In the meantime, the Union of Community Pharmacists (USPO) recommends that adults use other brands not affected by the breaks, such as Efferalgan or Dafalgan.
