News: World Water Day

With an awareness campaign, Aguas del Norte makes visible the importance of caring for water and the need for the commitment of the general population.

In 2024, World Water Day focuses on water for prosperity and peace; UNESCO and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe co-lead the celebration for the UN. Sustainable water management generates a host of benefits for people and communities. It is through these benefits that water leads to prosperity. And the equitable distribution of these benefits promotes peace.

When it comes to water, sharing is truly caring.

Within this framework, the company proposed some recommendations to avoid waste and take care of water:

  • Repair faucets and leaks in your house, save up to 80 liters of water per day.
  • A shower of up to 5′ saves up to 100 liters of water every day.
  • Wash the car or motorcycle with a bucket, now up to 50 liters of drinking water per day.
  • Watering plants in the late afternoon keeps them moist and prevents evaporation.
  • To wash the sidewalk, use buckets and not a hose, this way you will save up to 360 liters of water per day.
  • Brushing your teeth with the tap closed saves up to 25 liters of water.

Likewise, the president of the Company, Ignacio Jarsúnhighlighted the daily efforts made by workers to improve the service “We are aware of the numerous water losses on public roads and we are fixing them, there is a lot to do, that is why we strengthen our teams and we have more tools to optimize tasks and reduce response times to users.”
