next week would already be crucial for Apple?

During the last edition of its WWDC in June, Apple presented the Vision Pro. This first mixed reality headset, defined by the Apple brand as a “spatial computer” has not yet been released in stores. If Apple executives remain silent on the subject, several reports today claim that the launch should not take long.

According to the latest information from Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is about to launch large-scale production of the Vision Pro. A crucial step in order to best prepare for the arrival of the mixed reality headset on the American continent. Because yes, initially, the product will only be available in the United States.

500,000 Vision Pro for 2024

In his report published on December 24, Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the Vision Pro will be delivered in large quantities to Apple during the month of January. The approximately 500,000 models planned for the year 2024 should then be distributed across the various Apple Stores in the United States, with online sales clearly not being possible for this product.

If the purchasing mechanism is still quite vague, Apple gave us some clues on this subject recently. The Apple brand would like to allow its users to order the Vision Pro online, on its virtual store. But unlike iPhones and other products, it would be impossible for future customers to quietly wait for their headset to be delivered.

Apple would offer to make an appointment at the Apple Store for a private trial of the headset. The latter should allow potential customers to discover as many features as possible in addition to teaching them the few key operations on this new product.

Several sources have already reported that a lot of training work had been done internally at Apple so that the thousands of Apple Store salespeople were able to present the product.

A launch before the end of February?

In his report, Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that the bulk of production will be delivered to Apple before the end of February. Once this green light is obtained, Apple could launch sales of its mixed reality headset. The Cupertino company is therefore impatiently awaiting the first containers.

Apple does not currently want to give additional information on the Vision Pro, but a launch at the beginning of 2024 would correspond to the promises made by Tim Cook during WWDC last June. The Cupertino company should not organize a Keynote specifically for this announcement, but it could be integrated into a conference with other products such as iPads or a new color of the iPhone 15.
