Around 9.3 million people in Venezuela have a health problem that cannot be treated, due to lack of access to medicines, as a result of low purchasing power. This was stated by the NGO Acción Solidaria in its latest reports.

Lawyer Natasha Saturno, coordinator of the Human Rights Enforceability Unit of the NGO Acción Solidaria, specified that the situation forces the population to prioritize the purchase of food.

“This tells us regarding a situation that is difficult, but that also justifies the need to maintain our humanitarian programs,” Saturno said.

He added that regarding 90% of Venezuelans depend on the public health system, which he described as “collapsed,” according to El Nacional.

For his part, the president of Acción Solidaria, Feliciano Reyna, assured that a good part of the population has violated their right to health.
