NGOs present list of candidates to integrate the Electoral Commission of Primary Opposition

Before the nomination process for candidates to form the opposition Primary Electoral Commission closed, members of the Sky Foundation, Fundación Sumando Voluntades and the organization Gente de Sucre came together to propose a large list of names that they aspire to be able to contribute satisfactorily to the development of such an important process.

The representatives of these organizations highlighted that the list is made up of 21 personalities with extensive political, academic and social careers.

“We hope that these 21 names are taken into account for the appointment of the primary electoral commission, since we consider that they are highly credible people, known for their impeccable morals.” This is how it is read in the letter sent to the executive secretary of the Unitarian Platform, Omar Barboza.

The representatives of Fundación Ciela, Fundación Sumando Voluntades and the organization Gente de Sucre agree that the primary elections represent a necessary process for the country, which requires transparency and reliability. That is why they assure that the only objective of their proposal is to contribute to the good development of such an important event.

They argued that in order to achieve a successful primary process, which would subsequently lead us to the long-awaited success and to the democratic reconstruction of the country, it is strictly necessary that the primary electoral commission be made up of respectable personalities and that they have the necessary credentials to impart confidence in society, such as:

– Ruth Capriles: BA in History and PhD in Political Science. Member of the Coordinating Team of the Veedores Network. Postgraduate professor at UCAB.

– Noel Álvarez: Graduated in Business Administration, former president of Fedecámaras.

– Colett Capriles: Political scientist, writer and university professor. She is currently a professor at the Simón Bolívar University and head of the Political Science section of the Department of Social Sciences.

– Lester Rodríguez: Engineer, former rector of the ULA and former mayor of Mérida.

– Jhon Magdaleno: Political scientist, director of POLITY Consulting, analyst and strategist. political.

– Félix Arroyo: Expert engineer in electoral systems.

– Francisco Bello: Engineer, president of the Pronóstico pollster, political analyst and former member of the CNE nominations committee.

– Marcos Villasmil: Political scientist and electoral analyst.

– Oscar Belloso: Engineer and rector of URBE.

– Eugenio Martinez: Journalist, specialist in political issues and electoral matters.

– Luis Emilio Rondón: Lawyer, ex-rector of the CNE. He exercised the Directorate of Political Parties of the CNE.

– Juan Carlos del Pino: Electoral expert and former rector of the CNE.

– Armando Rodríguez García: Lawyer, statesman, Doctor of Law. Postgraduate Director / Administrative Law Coordinator · Central University of Venezuela.

– Virginia Rivero: Lawyer and electoral expert.

– Máximo Napoleón Febres Siso: Lawyer, university professor and electoral expert.

– José María Casal: Lawyer, director of the UCAB Legal Research Institute and constitutionalist.

– Olga Krnjajsky: Political analyst and neighborhood leader.

– Rosario Orellana: Lawyer, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Vice Minister of the Secretariat of the Presidency. She was an advisor to the Comptroller General and the Attorney General of the Republic and an electoral analyst.

– Juan Vilera del Corral: Lawyer. He held the position of Coordinator of Electoral Control of the CNE.

– Jorge Paparoni: Lawyer and electoral expert.

– Ismael Pérez Vigil: Political scientist and political analyst.
