The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 away.

Striker Patrik Laine was the match winner for Columbus with his hat trick (13th/16th/22nd), defender Vladislav Gavrikov scored following 14 minutes to make it 2-0. Despite twelve to three shots on goal in the final third, Detroit was no longer able to win a point.

Tim Berni received 16:19 ice time, shot once on goal, distributed two checks, blocked a shot and ended the game with a minus – 2 – record.

Goalie Elvis Merzlikins parried 25 of 28 shots.

Pius Suter was redundant.
