NHL: Senators trade Jayce Hawryluk and Kristians Rubins

The Ottawa Senators completed two trades on Friday. They first traded forward Jayce Hawryluk to the New Jersey Devils, then traded defenseman Kristians Rubins to the Calgary Flames.

Ottawa has secured future consideration for both trades.

The 27-year-old Hawryluk hasn’t played for Ottawa this season. He played 19 American League games with the Belleville Senators, scoring three goals and eight points. He had evolved in Sweden during the 2021-2022 campaign.

In 98 NHL games, including 11 with the Senators, Hawryluk has 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points.

In Rubins’ camp, the 25-year-old guard has two goals and six points in 42 games with Belleville this season. He played his only three NHL games in a Maple Leafs uniform last season.
