NHL: Tanner Jeannot injured in Lightning game

The Lightning’s loss to the New York Islanders might be costly. Tanner Jeannot and Pat Maroon left the game once morest the New York Islanders.

Jeannot left the game following a worrying fall following contact with Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield. He fell awkwardly and injured his right leg.

Jeannot left the game midway through the second period following spending 6:25 minutes on the ice before his crash.

As for Maroon, he left the game following receiving a kick in the rib area from Islanders forward Bo Horvat late in the second period.

Since being acquired by the Lightning from the Nashville Predators for five draft picks before the NHL trade deadline this year, Jeannot, 25, has scored one goal and three assists in 19 games with Tampa Bay.

Veteran Maroon has five goals and 14 points in 76 games in 2022-23.

The Lightning are currently third in the Atlantic Division and will face the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs.
