The creators of Pokémon Go are embarking on a new adventure, in augmented reality, of course. Called Peridot, the game is like a mix between Pokémon and Tamagotchis.
“Today begins the journey of Peridot: an all-new AR mobile game and original franchise that brings you the joy of caring for, raising and breeding uniquely adorable creatures“, announces the studio. And beyond the gameplay, what should be remembered from this short introduction is obviously the mention “original franchise”. With Peridot, Niantic finally offers its own universe, without worrying about the various licenses like Pokémon, Harry Potter, Pikmin or even Transformers.
As for the game as such, it will offer you to take care of the creatures, the Peridots (or Dots for short). “You will welcome your own Peridots during this experience. These creatures will feel so real to you that you’ll love every moment of raising them, from birth to adulthood. As you explore the world together, you’ll learn more about your new friends, develop a bond by raising and playing with them, and work with other players to diversify their species.”, can we read in the press release.
Niantic has yet to share a release date, but a soft launch is expected soon. Enough to take out your phones and go for a walk accompanied by your Dot.
