Nick de Vries says Williams F1 candidate coverage is ‘honored'[F1-Gate.com]

Nick de Vries says he is “honored” to have his name on the list of Williams F1 drivers for 2023.

Williams F1 has privately acknowledged the need to fire Nicolas Latifi, and it was rumored that the Alpine F1 team would let Oscar Piastri go on loan to Williams for two years.

Mercedes’ reigning Formula E champion, Nick de Vries, drives Williams F1 during Friday practice at the F1 Spanish Grand Prix. Toto Wolff admits Mercedes may need to ‘release him’ for 2023 if he can’t find an F1 seat.

“Of course we all share dreams and goals,” De Vries told total-motorsport.com when asked about rumors of a F1 seat for 2023.

“I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to go to F1. But I’m also happy with what I’m doing. Ultimately it’s out of my hands and time will tell what happens. It tells us”

“I can only do a good job on the track. It’s an honor to have my name on the list.”
