Former F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg feels that Sergio Perez’s victory at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix was a statement to Red Bull Racing that he could compete for the title and fight.
At the F1 Spanish Grand Prix, Sergio Perez was in a great position to win after Charles Leclerc retired, but team order gave his teammate Max Verstappen the victory and finished second.
However, in the wet conditions of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez managed to strategically overtake two Ferraris and won his first victory in 2022.
Red Bull Racing had no chance to change drivers, and Max Verstappen finished third behind Carlos Sainz Jr.
Sergio Perez endured the pressure until the chucker was shaken to ensure that he was a winner.
Nico Rosberg feels that Sergio Perez’s victory is a statement to Red Bull Racing.

But from there Sergio Perez showed a brave defense. Former F1 driver Paul di Resta claimed that Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc were clearly the only drivers to win.

After the victory, Sergio Perez was only 15 points behind driver’s championship leader Max Verstappen.
Nico Rosberg believes Sergio Perez has joined the title battle with his victory in Monaco.
“It’s unbelievable. You wouldn’t have expected it too much, but he’s right there,” said Nico Rosberg.
“And he’s pretty close to Verstappen this year at a pace. Let’s see how the next few races will unfold, but that’s great.”
