Some consider them to be the most beautiful objects of African art. Sculptures, bronzes and other works looted during European colonization were returned to Nigeria on Tuesday, December 20. According to Abuja, the British looted up to 5,000 of them at the time. Some of them were previously kept in Germany. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock made a point of returning them in person.
