The Nigerian Army has issued a formal warning to the public regarding a fraudulent recruitment publication circulating on social media platforms, which falsely claims that application processes for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake have officially commenced.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Directorate of Recruitment, Captain AU Hammanga, the circulating advertisement is entirely false and must be ignored. Published on the social media platform X, the military’s advisory stressed that the organization follows a strict, structured protocol for announcing enlistment drives.
“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the Nigerian Army stated. The military authority further noted that prospective applicants must rely exclusively on verified communication channels to obtain accurate details regarding when the official application portal will open. “The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities and will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 92 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened.”
Risks to Prospective Job Seekers
The alert was issued amid mounting concerns that opportunistic fraudsters might exploit the deceptive social media notice to target unsuspecting job seekers. Authorities warn that scammers often use fake recruitment advertisements to illegally harvest personal data or demand unauthorized monetary payments from candidates seeking enlistment.
Reiterating its institutional standards, the military emphasized that all official intake procedures are designed to uphold fairness and integrity. “The Nigerian Army remains committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” the statement added.
