Night of Museums in Bogotá | Museums, activities and schedules – Bogotá

It is Wednesday May 18 go back to Bogota the 2022 edition of the ‘Museum Night’, an event that opens these spaces at unconventional times. This May 18, moreover, happens to be International Museum Day.

In this edition, coordinated by the Bogotá Museum Board and supported by the district’s cultural sector, will participate 45 museum spaces and six cultural spaces in 10 locations: La Candelaria, Santa Fe, Mártires, Teusaquillo, Engativá, Chapinero, Ciudad Bolívar, Fontibón, San Cristóbal and Usaquén.

On November 12, 2021, the first version of this event was held, which, according to figures from the District’s culture sector, was attended by more than 28,000 people at the 40 museums set up in seven locations. This year, a large participation in the exhibitions, workshops, concerts and other activities of the program is expected.

“With the learning of the previous version to enhance the event, this new version of the Night of Museums reiterates the opportunity to enjoy with family or friends the meeting in scenarios where creation is the protagonist”, said the Secretary of Culture, Nicolás Montero .

Although there are well-known places such as the Bogotá Museum, the National Museum or the Gold Museum, the invitation from the Table and the culture sector is to give yourself the opportunity to visit, also, other spaces perhaps not so frequented.

Do not miss the opportunity to go, for example, to the Museum of the Self-Constructed City, where there will be a freestyle show with local artists. You can also go to the Castillo de las Artes and enjoy a performance cabaret directed by the artsiat Manu Mojito and with the participation of LGBTIQ+ artists.
