Night of the Pedestrians: with public success, a new edition was developed in the center of Rosario

The new edition of the Night of Pedestrians had an attendance of thousands of Rosario and Rosario this Saturday, December 17, from 7 pm and until early Sunday morning.

This edition had three peculiarities: on the one hand, the section of Córdoba from Paraguay to Moreno was pedestrianized to expand the proposal and integrate the Paseo del Siglo area, where the Romántica del Siglo tour was also installed. On the other hand, Tango Week ended with different proposals that honored city music. And finally, Rosario and Rosario cheered on the Scaloneta ahead of the Qatar 2022 final in the World Cup fan zone.

Mayor Pablo Javkin participated in the event and covered a good part of the downtown area from the Paseo del Siglo to the historic center of the city, along which he talked with participants, commercial references and protagonists of the many programmed activities.

The mayor celebrated with them the success of the initiative and praised the work articulated with commercial references in the sector in a proposal originally intended to recover activity after the restrictions of the “hard” isolation and distancing of pandemic times.

Now, after five editions, the new call ratified a common will to join efforts so that the center of Rosario recovers the recreational, cultural and gastronomic attractions that it had decades ago. As on the four previous occasions, this Saturday the shops, gastronomic venues, Galleries and food trucks involved in the proposal exhibited a level of attendance and activity well above the average for the usual days, with a public that came attracted by the multiplicity of programmed attractions, enhanced by the proximity of the end-of-year festivities and the promotion from Banco Municipal, which accompanied the initiative with a 30% discount and interest-free installments for purchases made with their credit cards in multiple affiliated businesses.

Throughout the San Martín pedestrian street and also through Córdoba from Laprida to Moreno, it was possible to enjoy cultural and artistic proposals, fairs, gastronomy, food trucks, open terraces and live DJs.

To encourage the National Team, a space was set up in Córdoba between President Roca and Spain where they offered allusive makeup, courts to kick penalties, live screen printing and a dj that played all the World Cup hits.

The fifth edition had as novelty the pedestrianization of Córdoba from Paraguay up to Moreno, adding the entire Paseo del Siglo sector.

In Córdoba, from Presidente Roca to Dorrego, there were Christmas proposals and activities for children. And in Plaza San Martín, The Livings, Dj Set and the Quarrimen band performed. In addition, the Rosario Diseña y Emprendedoras AWE Fair was set up, along with games for children and a gastronomic proposal.

The new Romántica del Siglo urban signage was also released along the entire promenade, taking up the history of the stables and their architecture.

To close the Tango Week celebration, Eleonora Gotán, the Guitar Quintet – Casa del Tango, the School Orchestra, the Gran Milonga, the Espacio Bodegón and Cantina performed in Montenegro square. There was also an artistic installation, performative interventions, tango gatherings and a microcinema by Gerardo Quilici.

In the 25 de Mayo square, live music was offered with Dj Nair, Leonel Capitano and Escolaso ​​trio, guest musician Simón Lagier and Orquesta Utópica. The Mercado de las Artes was also set up in the square, where artists from the city showed all their talent; a section of the Aguaribay Fair with flowers and plants, and the El Roperito fair that left its vintage stamp through clothing and accessories.

Within the framework of the reopening of La Favorita, the stained glass windows recovered their splendor with a distinctive sample and a review of the history of the traditional national genre of 2×4. An audiovisual and scenographic intervention was shown in homage to the figure of Astor Piazzolla and the exhibition “Mujeres del tango en el siglo XX” from the Becker Collection was exhibited. Outside, there was an urban stage with a flashmob performed by ballets from the Ernesto de Larrechea School of Dance and Performing Arts.

In addition, at the corner of Córdoba and Entre Ríos, the milongas Percanta, La casona, Dúo Martinelli and Nocera performed.

Seven traditional buildings opened their terraces for visits with special gastronomic and recreational proposals for the Night of the Pedestrians. Jockey Club de Rosario (Maipú 801), Savoy Esplendor (San Lorenzo 1022), Galería Córdoba (Córdoba 1080), Edificio Armonía (Corrientes 732), Eiffel (Córdoba 999), The Club (Italia and Rioja) and the terrace of the Estévez Museum (Santa Fe 748).

As in previous editions, the downtown galleries were open with special activities and businesses available to do Christmas shopping.

In addition, to buy locally produced gifts, different entrepreneurship fairs were present, for all tastes.
