As reported ScreenRant, we can for example cite the Nintendo 3DS in the colors of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater whose coating reproduces a snake skin; even the Xbox 360 and its artwork inspired by the most famous group in the world, The Beatles, on the occasion of their dedicated Rock Band episode. But, in the category above, there are the consoles which were not even intended to be sold… This is the case of an ultra-rare Gamecube, shown as part of the Nintendo SpaceWorld of 2000. At the time, it was the first time that the Japanese firm unveiled its sixth generation machine. You know what ? Some smart guy got the hang of it.
An incredible discovery
It’s the owners of ConsoleVariations, which lists all versions of all video game mediums, that is behind the superb find. “Finally after 23 years, the Spaceworld Gamecube is discovered” announces its author on Twitter, photo in support. On the picture, no doubt, the machine bears two major differences with the final product : a small window to see the disk spinning, on the black circle which bears the mark “Nintendo Gamecube”; and the Open button which is not dug. At the time, on the controller, there was also the Start button which was not white-gray but… red.

According to the official ConsoleVariations website, there is only between a | fifty copies of this edition, divided between five colors: Indigo (found today), Black, Gold, Silver and Pink! It is also specified that the machines are not functionaltheir initial objective being above all to show the design of the Gamecube… As it stands, no price or estimate has been put forward for this discovery.
Released between 2001 | 2002 according to the regions of the world, the Nintendo Gamecube is considered a relative commercial failure for the Japanese company… Despite games that have become cult, it ends its run with nearly 20 million units sold – five times less than its little sister , the Wii.
