Pikmin 3 was released for the Wii U in 2013, and fans of the series had to wait 10 years to experience Pikmin 4, a wait that was more than worth it. This episode is on its way to becoming the best-selling Pikmin title to date. With all sorts of new players discovering the Pikmin series, one can only wonder what Nintendo’s next step will be for the franchise. Apparently, there is hope that we won’t have to wait 10 years to see what happens next for Pikmin.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Takashi Tezuka, was asked regarding the 10-year wait between Pikmin 3 and 4. In particular, Tezuka was rather playfully asked regarding Nintendo’s ability to make Pikmin 5 not take another 10 years to arrive. Tezuka replied that he thought it would be “better this way”, then added: “We will try not to keep everyone waiting”.
