Nissan finally got rid of the Datsun brand

The last country where the Datsun was still represented was India, but even there cars were rapidly losing popularity. The hopes of Ghosn, who expected Datsun to take a 10 percent share of the Indian market, did not materialize: in 2021, only 4,296 cars were sold in the country, which is regarding 0.09 percent of all cars sold.

As a result, Datsun’s latest model, the redi-GO hatchback, has been discontinued. Some stock of machines still remains in warehouses in India. Nissan also continues warranty service for already sold cars of the brand.
