‘No amount of money’ will convince Fury to return

‘No amount of money’, no matter how big, will convince Tyson Fury to step back into the ring, the world heavyweight champion has claimed.

Fury retired undefeated at 33 after his win at Wembley on Saturday over compatriot Briton Whyte for the WBC title.

Fury had announced in advance that this match, won by KO. on the sixth round in front of 94,000 spectators, would be his last. But no sooner was it over than rumors began to swirl about a possible comeback against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, holder of the WBA, IBF and WBO belts or against the other Briton Anthony Joshua.

‘Go to the top’

‘I wanted to go to the top, with a bang. Nearly 100,000 people at Wembley, a victory by knockout: the Gypsy King (the gypsy king) will not be forgotten anytime soon, and no amount of material goods or money will bring me out of retirement because I am happy,” he said.

‘It’s the truth, the truth of the Gospel, nothing but the truth, I’m done,’ he said. ‘I am happy and healthy, I still have my head, I can talk, I have a beautiful wife and six children. I have I don’t know how many belts and a lot of money. I have success, fame, glory. What more could I have?’, affirmed the boxer.

‘Boxing is a very dangerous sport. You can be ejected in one fell swoop, as we saw on Saturday night,’ continued the Briton, who blasted Whyte with an uppercut. ‘All it takes is one blow to make you no longer get up from the mat’.

‘I’m leaving being at the top. I am undefeated and only the second world heavyweight champion in history to retire undefeated. It’s not a question of money. For many people, all that matters is money, more and more. I have enough money for everything I need,” he added.

‘I have been traveling the world for boxing for ten years. When will I take the time to be a father and a husband, a brother, a son? I need some time for myself,’ said Fury, whose record is 32 wins and a draw.
