FRESNO. The coordinator of the Human Medicine Unit in Fresnillo of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ), Ernesto Alvarado Flores, reported that in the Fresnillo extension they still do not return to face-to-face classes, since a large part of the student body is made up of foreign students who they could not be immediately integrated into the classroom.
He explained that on campus they made the decision to return until the end of the Easter holidays, in this way they give students the opportunity to look for homes in the demarcation to join face-to-face classes.
He specified that, of the total number of students, approximately 450, almost 40 percent, are foreigners not only from other municipalities of the entity such as Pinos, Juchipila or the capital itself, but also from other states such as Chiapas, Michoacán and Hidalgo.
“We were ready, we were doing all the security measures for the return and we are still ready, but we reached this agreement to return until after the holidays,” he reported.
The coordinator expressed that the idea is to give students time so that they can go back to look for places to stay in the municipality before they return to classes, added to this the idea of going back one week and one week is not complicated for those who do not live in the municipality, in such a way that the consensus among teachers was to wait until April to return in person.
Finally, the coordinator recalled that they have intended to accept more students; however, infrastructure problems and a lack of clinical fields limit the growth of the school.
