The priest José María “Pepe” Di Paolaa representative of the Group of Priests in Option for the Poor, stated this Thursday that “no person of faith can lean towards an anti-values and inhuman electoral proposal” like the one represented by the presidential candidate of La Libertad Avanza (LLA), Javier Milei, facing the runoff that will be held on November 19.

«A man of faith cannot support inhuman, anti-value proposals, be he Christian, Catholic or whatever creed he professes and that is what this candidate (Milei) proposes, a setback in civilization«Do Paola stated in statements to Télam Radio.

Di Paola added that the Milei’s electoral proposal also implies a setback for those who believe “in a responsible view of the care of life” and recalled that both the ultraliberal economist and his party representatives “had words of agreement with the use of weapons and the sale of organs.”

At this point, he remembered that “no religion” agrees with these postulates and that “anyone who feels tied to a type of humanism cannot agree.”

«No religion embraces these inhuman proposals such as the sale of organs. “It is something managed by a mafia that worries humanity and that here wants to present itself as something civilized,” observed the religious.

Along the same lines, the priest observed that Milei’s policies “are all contrary to what Pope Francis proposes, who speaks of a humanity of solidarity and believes in life.”

«Francis tells us to embrace the immigrant and seek the happiness of all. He does not think about the idea of individualistic freedom like the one that Milei’s supporters shout at every rally. That’s why, for hate preachers, social justice is bullshit. That’s why I think no man of faith can lean towards this electoral proposal“, launched Di Paola.

On October 24, hours after the general elections were held in which the Minister of Economy and presidential candidate of Unión por la Patria (UxP), Sergio Massa, won, the bishop of the Diocese of Formosa, Monsignor José Vicente Conejero Gallego, maintained that the “A blank vote is an option when you have to choose the least bad.”

In this regard, the priest regretted this “attitude” and described this call as “irresponsible”, because “Christians have to reaffirm their vote for candidates who have proposals for the poorest.”

«The vote has to be for those who defend the State and are in favor of education and health for all. We have to support the fact that they do not want young people to bring a weapon to school and fight addictions,” she said.
