Last year, during WWDC22, the Apple announced that No Man’s Sky, popular title of the famous franchise, would be released for Macs by the end of that year; however, that promise has only now been fulfilled.

According to Sean Murrayfounder of the developer Hello GamesNo Man’s Sky is available for Mac starting today and features all content updates released over the past seven years.

As also detailed by Murray, No Man’s Sky comes with support for cross-play, allowing Mac users to team up with gamers on consoles like Xbox and PlayStation, as well as PCs and virtual reality headsets. Furthermore, it is optimized for Macs with Apple Silicon and some models with chips from Intel, and it also supports Metal 3.

Murray also made a teaser on Twitter about a possible Apple-related announcement coming soon. As well scored by MacRumorsalthough that next announcement will probably be the release of No Man’s Sky for ‌iPads‌ — which was also announced with the Mac version at WWDC22 — it is possible that this refers to the speculated version for Apple’s mixed reality (augmented/virtual) headset.

As for availability, No Man’s Sky costs R$162 no Steam and can be downloaded for free by anyone who has previously purchased the game. Its launch on the Mac App Store is coming soon.
