It has been a year since the diagnosis. It’s been a year since we were forced to reach the New Normal. I fought many battles with my body. Avoid salt, sugar and grains. Along with it a cocktail of medicine as main course. Forced shutdowns and forced restarts. A year of searching for meaning, reflection and introspection. and professional failures. A year of prayer and worship. Not praying for blessings or gifts. Prayers for courage and peace. A year that taught me that things don’t always turn out the way we thought they would. Most importantly, I learned that it’s okay even if something doesn’t go as planned. I have to control what I can control, let go of the rest, and keep moving forward with each step. It’s sometimes not about great wins, but working forward is a win. Don’t wait for things to go right or hang on to the past. I must hold on to those I love and those who love me. Don’t hate me. Many of you must be fighting very hard battles. I am praying for you too. The gods may be late, but they will never push you away.
