1 So far we have always been able to catch our breath in the summer. Why is this different this year?
There are mutliple reasons for this. On the one hand, the summer wave is probably related to the fact that the BA.5 variant is even more infectious. In addition, there are hardly any measures left and the virus can spread more easily. Travel has also increased once more and events with many people are taking place once more. And: The fact that the booster vaccination was a long time ago for many people should also play a role.
