It was a nasty surprise that awaited eight hikers on their way home from the Roßgumpenalm in Tyrol’s Lechtal in August: where there was a hiking trail on the way up, a stream now flowed into the valley. What was left of the original route was blocked by rubble and stones. Some of the hikers recorded the predicament for their holiday photo book – but it was anything but fun. With the help of the fire department and a tractor, everyone was able to be brought safely down to the valley.
