Hello Anya! Welcome to Archyde.Can you tell us a little about your role in “Nobody 2”?

Thank you for having me! as the action choreographer, my primary duty was to design, plan, and execute all the fight sequences and stunt work in the film. This included everything from hand-to-hand combat to the more elaborate set pieces we’ve seen in the trailers.

The action in the first “Nobody” was incredibly visceral. How did you approach upping the intensity for the sequel, especially given the return of Hutch Mansell?

We knew we had to raise the bar. The first film set a high standard for brutal, realistic action. For “Nobody 2,” we focused on evolving Hutch’s fighting style, making it more refined, but still raw. We wanted his actions to feel believable, grounded in real-world techniques, yet impactful, and really show his struggle to escape his violent past. The film is all about him fighting circumstances he really wants out of.

The trailer shows a few key action set pieces, like the arcade brawl and the boat fight. Can you give us any insights into choreographing those specifically?

Absolutely! The arcade scene was all about the confined space.The chaos of the arcade surroundings worked in our favor to showcase Hutch at his best. The boat fight was a different beast. We wanted to create an environment that offered a variety of challenges, especially with the movement and the use of the setting itself.

Bob Odenkirk is known for his acting more than his action. How was it working with him to bring these intense sequences to life?

Bob is unbelievable. He dedicated himself fully to the physical demands of the role.He trained incredibly hard, learning the choreography, and performing a large percentage of his own stunts. His commitment to the character really shines through in the action. He brought Hutch’s character to life, and embraced the violence reluctantly forced upon him.

“Nobody 2” introduces Sharon Stone and Colin Hanks. How did their characters – the crime boss and the corrupt sheriff – impact the style and pace of the action sequences?

Sharon Stone’s character in particular offered an exciting chance to create action that reflects her character’s ruthlessness and sophistication. Her scenes are elegant,almost a dance of aggression. Colin Hanks’ character added a layer of grounded menace, and the setting of the family vacation. Their presence really allowed us to expand the scope, too, in the action sequences.
