This is what Yannick Folla, co-founder of the 0X Society gallery in Montreal, told QUB Radio in an interview.

Recall that on Thursday, Donald Trump announced the release of a collection of NFT cards in his image.

“For him, it’s a commodity like any other,” said Mr. Folla at the microphone of Mario Dumont.

“We associate the NFT a lot with projects like those of Trump and afterwards, we associate this tool [NFT] to a way of taking advantage of people… It’s not ideal,” he said, pointing out that the price ($99) of the cards sold bearing the image of the former American president had nothing surprising, since his admirers will be ready to pay dearly to own one of these cards.

“It’s a digital certificate of authenticity. A secure electronic signature, which assures us that a work, an image, a card or even a song has been made by this artist,” summarized Mr. Folla.

Unlike a classic work, the NFT work is more of a digital file.

“There are a lot of electronic frames and televisions that support this kind of file. Instead of the works being physical, they are digital, but it’s the same thing,” he said.

NFT specialist Yannick Folla mentioned that his art gallery operates as a non-profit organization.

“We are more like a museum than a gallery. People can buy works online, but we also have a physical place in Montreal where the works are on sale,” said the NFT enthusiast.

“In Montreal, we have a community of extraordinary digital artists, between video game designers, graphic designers and people in the visual industry for cinema. These are all artists who have never been able to express themselves through their creativity because there was no way to create rarity with their art”, he explained, recalling that artists can now obtain visibility at their fair value, thanks to the NFT platform.
