There is currently a sharp increase in gender dysphoria among young people, mostly girls and young women. Children and young people should be carefully accompanied through all crises and not be encouraged in their passing (identity) crises with promises that cannot be kept by medical measures: “No one can change their gender. The dossier “Gender Dysphoria in Adolescence” published today examines the current practice of “gender affirming care” based on the scientific literature and shows the major evidence gaps.” The right of those affected to physical integrity is our starting point. We hope to take the discussion to a new level with this collection of facts and materials. We welcome the fact that the issue has entered the public debate in Austria through the child protection package in the ÖVP’s Austrian plan and we expect clear statements from all other parliamentary and political parties on the topic of “Trans and Teens”.
