(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Chae-rim Ha = North Korea fired about two multiple rocket launchers from the west coast to the west sea on the 10th.

Among the signs that North Korea has completed preparations for its seventh nuclear test, there are speculations that the US Air Force F-35A fighter jets are scheduled to be deployed to South Korea for the first time in about five years for joint training, and there are speculations that they may have staged a low-intensity armed demonstration aimed at this.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced to the media that it had detected tracks believed to be North Korean rocket launchers from 6:21 to 37 pm on the same day.

“Our military is maintaining a thorough readiness posture while closely cooperating with South Korea and the US while strengthening surveillance and vigilance,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

It is known that North Korea fired about two rounds from the west coast to the west sea on the same day, and these tracks were captured by the South Korean military’s detection radar. The captured model is estimated to be 120mm or 240mm.

The military is analyzing whether the nature of the launch of the multiple rocket launcher was a routine exercise, a test launch, or a part of an armed demonstration. The North Korean military began its summer training this month.

Normally, the Joint Chiefs of Staff did not make an official announcement or announcing the launch of multiple rocket launchers, but it has been announced recently.

Kim Seong-han, head of the National Security Office of the President’s Office, received a report from the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the National Crisis Management Center that North Korea had detected an estimated track of several rocket launchers and checked the readiness posture of the South Korean military. The National Security Office is closely monitoring the situation in preparation for possible additional launches by North Korea.

Earlier, on Sunday, the 12th of last month, North Korea also fired about five multiple rocket launchers into the West Sea.

At that time, the launch model was also estimated to have a caliber of less than 300 mm, and was estimated to be 240 mm without guidance.

In addition to launching multiple rocket launchers, North Korea has conducted 17 ballistic missile provocations so far this year, three of which have been provocations since the inauguration of the Yun Seok-Yeol government.

South Korea and the United States are scheduled to conduct joint air exercises this week while mobilizing F-35As.

Currently, six F-35A stealth fighter jets of the US Air Force are temporarily deployed in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do for joint South Korea-US training.

It is the first time in four years and seven months since December 2017 that the US Air Force’s F-35A fighter has been publicly deployed on the Korean Peninsula.
