The Japan Coast Guard said that North Korea had notified that it would launch a satellite between 0:00 the day following tomorrow (31st) and 0:00 on the 11th.

Kyodo News reported that during this period, North Korea informed the Japanese government of a plan to set up a dangerous zone in the sea following the launch of satellites.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in regards to North Korea’s plan to launch a satellite, “We will work with South Korea and the United States to ask North Korea to exercise strong restraint.”

Japan’s Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada has issued a “destruction order” to the Self-Defense Forces to intercept the aircraft if it lands in Japan, Kyodo News reported.

Japan believes that the artificial satellite that North Korea announced is actually a ballistic missile, and has strengthened its vigilance by deploying Patriot surface-to-air guided missiles on three islands in Okinawa Prefecture.
