North Korea’s chief nuclear representatives from South Korea, the United States, and Japan will meet today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss pending issues with North Korea, such as North Korea’s response to intercontinental ballistic missile launches.
On the morning of the 3rd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Kim Gun, head of the Korean Peninsula Peace Negotiation Headquarters, was scheduled to hold a meeting with US State Department special representative for North Korea Sung Kim and Japan’s Foreign Ministry Asia and Oceania Bureau Director Funakoshi Takehiro, as well as South Korea, US, South Korea, the US and Japan’s chief North Korean nuclear representatives.
In this consultation, the international community’s response to North Korea’s recent series of ballistic missile launches and the outbreak of Corona 19 are expected to be widely discussed.
It is the first time in about four months since the meeting in Hawaii in February that South Korea, the United States and Japan have discussed the three countries’ chief nuclear representatives, and it is the first time under the Yun Seok-yeol administration.
