The US State Department clearly pointed out that North Korea’s satellite launch was a violation of international resolutions against North Korea.
A State Department spokesperson responded to VOA’s email request for comment on the notification of North Korea’s satellite launch plan on the 29th, saying, “All launches by North Korea that use ballistic missile technology, including satellite launch vehicles (SLVs) used to launch artificial satellites into space, are It is a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.”

“The satellite launch vehicle includes the same and interchangeable technology used for ballistic missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs),” he said.
“We urge North Korea to engage in serious and sustained diplomacy to refrain from further illegal activities,” a State Department spokesperson said.
